Thieves steal 600 television sets from truck on busy highway

Police are looking to arrest a group of thieves on charges of theft after allegedly stealing hundreds of television sets from a truck on a busy highway, police in the United Kingdom said.

Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses in connection with the theft of over 600 televisions, worth approximately 62,000 pounds ($93,100), which were stolen from the truck that was parked on the A14.

The incident happened at the Haughley lay-by westbound between 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The suspects broke into the truck and stole View Sonic 22-inch LCD televisions from within the trailer.

Police said that the driver of the truck has slept through the entire incident.

Last week, police in Bury, said that 66,000 pounds ($99,411) worth of jumpers, which were made by a well-known clothing brand, were stolen from a truck at an A14 lay-by.

The theft occurred between 6:55p.m. on Monday and 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.
