(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on charges of armed robbery after allegedly robbing several convenience stores armed with a blowtorch, prosecutors in California said.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that 41-year-old Jermeile Hairston was charged with robbing three convenience stores in Glendale, Long Beach and Carson, armed with the blowtorch and a Taser.
Hairston faces three counts each of second-degree robbery and criminal threats and one count of possession of flammable material.
Hairston was previously convicted of aggravated robbery in Hamilton, Ohio. Arraignment took place in Department 1 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Glendale Branch.
During the robberies, Hairston threatened to kill the store employees, the prosecutor said.
