A registered sex offender was arrested, charged and coveted of sodomy after sodomizing a girl for seven years, prosecutors in California said.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that the man who was convicted of committing a lewd act upon a child many years ago, was found guilty of sexually
abusing a girl for seven years.

Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Hatami said a jury deliberated for two hours before finding 43-year-old Jose de Jesus Santana Aguilar guilty of four counts of sodomy by use of force; three counts of lewd act upon a child; two counts each of continuous sexual abuse, forcible oral copulation of victim over 14 years; and one count of sexual penetration by foreign object of victim over 14 years.

Before the trial began Aguilar pleaded no contest to five counts of failing to update registration annually.

Aguilar faces more than 132 years to life in state prison at a sentencing hearing scheduled in Department A17 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Antelope Valley Branch.

The sexual abuse began when the 12-year-old victim lived in Littlerock and it continued until she was 18, according to witness testimony.
